Federation of German Inland Ports and Port of Hamburg Marketing presented, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eastbrandenburg, the new Polish IWT policy to the new elected members of the Bundestag on 28th November. The parliamentary breakfast took place after the election of the German Bundestag and before the new government was established.

Boris Kluge, Managing Director of Federation of German Inland Ports, explained the several paths of Polish IWT strategy as a development plan. The plan has several paths for Odra River, Vistula River and their connection also to Elbe River. A major topic for the Polish government is to fulfil AGN (European Agreement on Main Inland Waterways of International Importance) recommendations as Poland recently accessed the AGN agreement and wants to develop routes into water class IV of navigability.

German politicians and other guests from several lobby organisations were fascinated by the ambitious plans and welcomed the Polish government to continue their strategy, after which the discussion was focused on the German waterway infrastructure.
